Jarian Thomas CEO of HME Records, local artist and native of Mobile Alabama has recently signed a distribution deal with Universal Records after a year and a few months of dedication and making the right connections along the way. In discussion with Center45 on how the music industry is similar to a Chess game. The owners/gatekeepers are picking those who they see fit for the opportunity. Rarely do we see such a fast track within substantial growth and responsibility within a year of getting back into his music career. It was an observation made by Center45 working as the marketing agency for his label. We concluded that the crux or biggest threat within a personal “swot analysis” would be trying to get others to see the vision. Further discussions revealed that we have to create our own realization of said success within the industry. Since his deep dive into music of August 2020 and going through back surgery earlier this year and being on stage within days after his surgery, he’s gained a warm welcome with a home studio and has already made substantial growth with the access Universal offers. He mentioned once he’s further established he’ll be looking for artist to develop and open the same lanes he has if not more, but we’ll see what the future holds for Swagg @ HME Records.
